Package Description

Hanoi: Located in North Vietnam, the capital city is a vibrant place and easily enjoyed by an age. Learn about the father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, with visits to his mausoleum, his humble wooden cottage and a museum dedicated to his life. Students can also walk through the grounds of the magnificent Presidential Palace; visit the impressive Temple of Literature as well as the One Pillar Pagoda. Relax with a walking tour of the Old Quarter or catch a water puppet theatre show.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Hanoi arrival.  On arrival at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, students and teachers will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. 

After a short rest, we enjoy a 1-hour cyclo tour of the French inspired "old quarter". 

We will then sit down to enjoy a performance of the city’s famous Water Puppets. 

After the show, we will have welcome dinner at a fine local restaurant in town before heading back to your hotel for your first nights stay in Hanoi.

Day 2:

Hanoi Food Tour & Orientation. Today you will venture out to explore Hanoi and enjoy the local food. You will not have your breakfast at your hotel this morning you will leave your hotel and head to  “Pho” noodle restaurant to try “Pho Ga” or “Pho Bo” (Chicken noodle or Beef noodle) as a locals do every morning.

Later, you continue walking along the street markets to see how the Hanoian people shop for  their daily food.

You then  walk along to many busy streets, and your tour guide can help you  pick up many kinds of food and you can  taste as much as possible while listening stories about food and history of food in Hanoi.

You will also try seasonal fruit juice during the tour. 

You will stop at a local restaurant for lunch feeling quite tired but by now you would have experienced as many as thirty different types of food on your tour.

In the afternoon, you will drive to visit the excellent Museum of Ethnology, which is widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam's 54 Ethnic minority people.  You then visit the Temple of Literature, which originally built as a temple to Confucius and the infamous Hoa Loa Prison Museum before heading for more food for dinner in a local restaurant before heading back to your hotel.

Day 3:

Hanoi – Halong Cruise – Fun time at the sea. After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will take a 4-hour drive to the World Heritage Site Halong Bay, voted as  ‘The New 7 Wonders of Nature’ in 2011. 

On arrival in Halong, you will embark on your cruise.

There will be a short cruise briefing and you will then savor a delectable lunch whilst you cruise among the limestone islands.

In the mid-afternoon, you will kayak among the hidden areas of the bay, around the Bo Nau Cave area before going back to your cruise and continue cruising to Soi Sim Island.  You can go swimming and relax at the beach of Soi Sim or climb up to the top of the island for a panorama view of Halong Bay. 

In the evening, you will cruise back to the main boat for a shower before having dinner and spend the night onboard.

Day 4:

Halong – Hanoi – Fly to Danang – Transfer to Hoi An.  You will wake up nice and early and start your day with Tai Chi exercises or a photo hunt before having breakfast. 

Afterwards you will explore the amazing Sung Sot Cave – the nicest cave in Halong Bay. 

You will then return to the boat, freshen up and check out of your cabin. Before continuing your cruise exploring the Bay, passing Ba Hang fishing village, Dog Islet, and much more. 

While heading back to the harbor, you will enjoy a cooking demonstration before enjoying a traditional Vietnamese lunch. You will disembark at round noon and find your coach is waiting and take you to Noi Bai airport in Hanoi for an evening flight to Danang. 

On arrival, you will be welcomed by your local guides and transfer to your hotel in Hoi An and then enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to your hotel for your overnight stay. 

Day 5:

Hoi An Farming and Fishing Eco Tour. After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will start your Farming & Fishing Life Eco Tour.

Starting at Tra Que Village, you will get a personal insight into the local farming communities. You will join the farmers in preparing their land for sowing, helping to fertilize the garden using seaweed from the local river and watering it in using huge tin cans strapped to your backs. 

Following this, you will begin a leisurely cycling tour through the countryside witnessing local Vietnamese rural life first hand. 

Late morning you will board your Hoi An Eco-tour boat for a river cruise. On the cruise you will witness local fishermen working their craft, before enjoying a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. 

You then transfer to a Vietnamese bamboo basket boat for a quick race and ride down a coconut palm lined waterway. Lunch today, is on board your boat, which is prepared using vegetables picked earlier at Tra Que Village.

After lunch, you will start your walking tour around the ancient town to visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, the temples and pagodas of Chinese appearance before heading back to your hotel to freshen up for dinner at  a local restaurant.

Day 6:

Hoi An – Danang – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels. After breakfast at your hotel you take a morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City.  On arrival, you will be met and driven in your private vehicle to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels. 

At its height, the tunnel system stretched over 250km. from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. 

Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life during the U.S.-Vietnam American must have been like.  Returning to the city centre in the afternoon, you will check in your hotel, before having the rest of the day free to wander around the lively streets and Ben Thanh Night Market before enjoying dinner at  a local restaurant and heading back to your hotel.

Day 7:

Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City.  After enjoying breakfast at your hotel you will transfer to Vinh Long in the Mekong Delta. 

The program will start with a visit of Vinh Long market in the town. This is the best choice for you to take pictures of fish, shrimps, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables and so much more.  Afterwards you will travel by boat to visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. Then, come to visit the orchard & traditional house where you  will enjoy many kinds of fruits and tea whilst listening to the traditional music at a local home.  The rowing boat then takes you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals so you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity. As you travel along it is so interesting to see traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and see some activities of the local farmers with an opportunity to make contacts with them and see how they catch fish or pick up fruits by ancestral ways in the Mekong Delta. 
You will also explore the village roads on a bike and ride through local farms, houses, passing some ‘monkey bridges’, and you can meet and talk with the local people. 
Mid afternoon, we will return to Ho Chi Minh City where you enjoy dinner before heading back to your hotel.

Day 8:

Ho Chi Minh City Tour then Departure 
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel you will visit the Reunification Palace, a palace of the old President in South of Vietnam during the American war.

You will witness War Remnants Museum where is poignant display of the futility of war;  You will also see Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post Office.

You then finish your morning with a visit to the lively Ben Thanh Market, this bustling and well-organized market is very popular with tourists, primarily due to its central location. It has a wide selection of goods ranging from fake Nike shoes to beautiful silk Ao Dai. 

After lunch in a local restaurant, we will transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UAE
