Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival at Keflavik Airport, you will clear immigration and customs and be met by your guide and coach. Your first visit will be to Reykjanes Geopark, which lies on major plate boundaries along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, part of the 65,000 km mid-ocean ridge that encircles the earth like the seam of a baseball.
Day 2
After enjoying breakfast, you will check out of your hotel. Then, your coach and guide will take you to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, located in the southern region of Iceland. The waterfall drops 60 meters and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano Eyjafjallajökull.
Day 3
After enjoying breakfast at the Skaalin Hostel, you will visit Laki Lavas and Lomagnupur. Laki, or Lakagígar (Craters of Laki), is a volcanic fissure in the south of Iceland, not far from the canyon of Eldgjá and the small village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
After enjoying your packed lunch, you will then visit Jökulsárlón, a large glacial lake in southeast Iceland, on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park.
Day 4
After breakfast, your coach will pick you up, and you will transfer to Landmannalaugar, where you will commence your full-day trip. Landmannalaugar is a place in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve in the Highlands of Iceland.
Day 5
After breakfast, you will take a ferry to Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands), an archipelago off Iceland’s south coast, formed by underwater volcanic eruptions. The youngest island, Surtsey, was formed in 1963. Heimaey is the largest and only inhabited island.
You will enjoy a guided coach tour of Heimaey Island. Heimaey, literally "Home Island," is the largest island in the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago, at 13.4 square kilometers.
Day 6
After breakfast at your hotel, you will start a Golden Circle Tour, including visits to Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir, and Þingvellir before heading to Efstidalur Dairy Farm.
After these visits, you will have your packed lunch before heading to Þingvellir. Þingvellir (Thingvellir) is a historic site and national park in Iceland, east of Reykjavík, known for the Alþing (Althing), the site of Iceland's parliament from the 10th to 18th centuries.
You will then head to Geysir, sometimes known as The Great Geysir, a geyser in southwestern Iceland. Gullfoss is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. You will then head back to Hotel Ork for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7
After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and board the coach. You will start your day at Perlan Ice Cave and Planetarium. Full details are on their website; a brief description is below, however. https://perlan.is/
Volcanoes, glaciers, geothermal marvels, and more come alive through cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking science. The Glaciers and Ice Cave exhibition is included in this unique nature exhibition.
You will then enjoy a city tour of Reykjavik by foot, where you will see the views from Perlan and the Hallgrímskirkja Parish Church.
Hallgrímskirkja is a Lutheran parish church in Reykjavík, Iceland. You will then have time for last-minute shopping before heading for your last night's stop at Hotel Cabin.
Day 8
You will check out of your hotel after breakfast and be transferred by coach for your flight back home.
