This is an introduction to Film, Moving Image and Animation as forms of communication and artistic expression. The course covers a range of handmade and digital processes used to create moving images, build worlds, and tell stories.

Students will learn about all elements of production, from the initial concept through to the completed piece of moving image content with sound. We will study historical and contemporary movements, watch and discuss films, visit exhibitions, explore the outdoors, write, draw, record, imagine and create!

All projects will use primary and secondary research to inform conceptual and material experimentation. Possible outcomes are narrative and experimental short films and animations, documentaries, music videos and multimedia installations.

Day 1
Morning: 11:30: Drop off your luggage at the hotel before making your way to Covent Garden to engage in a Private Walking Tour, a must-do experience that highlights the key attractions of 
Westminster. This tours offer valuable insights into the city's highlights, film locations and 
performing arts scene.

Afternoon: After a Lunch near Leicester square its time for… The Theatre Royal Drury Lane Tour: 14:00 - this has been a site for entertainment since 1663 and  is the world's oldest theatre site in continuous use. The guided tours are conducted in English and  have an approximate duration of 1 hour each. Occasionally, adjustments to the route might be necessary due to concurrent events within the premises. Participants should be aware that this walking tour involves navigating several steps and exploring backstage locations. Therefore, it is advisable to wear comfortable footwear. It's worth noting that the Theatre Royal Drury Lane 
functions as a live theatre, which may lead to variations in the tour route.

Evening: 19:00: Step into the majestic world of "The Lion King" at the Lyceum Theatre, London. Watch Simba's epic journey unfold through incredible puppetry, vibrant costumes, and the iconic soundtrack. With breathtaking visuals, unforgettable characters, and the Circle of Life, this theatrical masterpiece is a roaring adventure that will captivate the hearts of kids and leave them enchanted. Don't miss the magic!

Day 2 
Morning: 10:00: After breakfast you will go straight to the Shakespeare Globe Tour, which provides fascinating insights into the history of theatre. Explore the reconstructed Globe Theatre, which serves as a modern version of the original, constructed in 1599 by the company Shakespeare was part of. Learn about its history, including the fire damage in 1613 and its closure in 1642, followed by the unveiling of a contemporary reconstruction in 1997.

11:30 & 11.45: Enjoy a pleasant 17-minute walk to the National Theatre, a renowned publicly funded performing arts institution in the UK. It shares its esteemed status with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Opera House, holding the title of the National Theatre of Great Britain on a global scale. Partake in the National Theatre Tour, offering an inside look at London's remarkable national theatre. The group will be split into two group 15 minutes apart.Afternoon: Immerse yourself in the treasures of the British Museum, a world-renowned institution located in London. Established in 1753 and open to the public since 1759, the museum's mission is to showcase a diverse array of art and artifacts spanning various cultures, civilizations, and historical  epochs.

Evening: 18:40 – 19:30 - River Cruise (arrive 30 minutes early). 
20:00 – London Eye, arrive 30 minutes early.
As the day progresses, walk to the London Eye and the Jubilee Gardens. At 6:00 PM, experience the  magic of London with a combined London Eye and River Cruise tour. Begin by rising above the city on the London Eye, offering breathtaking views of famous landmarks. Then, embark on a peaceful boat ride along the River Thames, where you'll encounter historic spots like Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. This special journey combines the thrill of soaring above the city with the tranquility of sailing on the river, providing a wonderful way to discover London's beauty.Conclude your memorable day in London with a late evening walk back to the hotel, allowing you to savor the day's experiences before a well-deserved rest.

Day 3 
Morning: Start your day with breakfast, setting the stage for another early start filled with exciting experiences.Begin your morning with a royal touch by visiting Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the British monarch in London. Witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at 10:45 AM, a captivating display where guards in striking red uniforms exchange duties with precision. Capture stunning photos of the palace's gates and the lively march of guards accompanied by a military band.Late Morning/Early Afternoon: After the ceremony, take time to explore nearby parks:  Relax at St. James's Park, a peaceful haven featuring a serene lake and charming pelicans.Discover Green Park's serene paths and iconic trees, providing the perfect setting for a quiet stroll.If your schedule allows, venture to Hyde Park for more open spaces and the picturesque Serpentine Lake. This morning combines royal tradition, palace elegance, and the natural beauty of London's parks, offering a 
delightful London experience. 

Afternoon: 15:00: "Back to the Future: The Musical" in London is a high-energy stage adaptation of the iconic 1985 film. Featuring dazzling effects, catchy songs, and the beloved story of Marty McFly's timetraveling adventure with Doc Brown, it's a thrilling theatrical experience for all ages.  Adelphi Theatre.

Evening: 19:00: Experience the magic of "Six the Musical" at Vaudeville Theatre in London! Join the six  fierce and fabulous Tudor queens as they take the stage in this electrifying pop concert. With catchy tunes, history, and a royal dose of girl power, it's a must-see show for kids!

Day 4 
Morning- 8:30-17:00- Harry Potter Studios:
Begin your day with an early morning breakfast, fueling up for a day filled with wizardry and 
shopping. A bus will pick you up from your accommodation to take you to the Wizarding world where  you can experience the magic firsthand. This studio tour, located in Watford just outside of  London, offers an immersive experience that takes you behind the scenes of the Harry Potter  film series.  Here's what you can expect during the tour: •Explore Iconic Sets: Delve into meticulously crafted sets from the Harry Potter movies, Including the Great Hall, Dumbledore's office, Diagon Alley, the Gryffindor common room, and  more. •See Real Props and Costumes: Get up close to real props, costumes, and magical objects used  in the films, appreciating the intricate details that bring the Wizarding world to life. •Discover Special Effects: Gain insight into the movie magic that brought spells, creatures, and  flying broomsticks to life through interactive exhibits that unveil the secrets behind these special 
effects. •Board the Hogwarts Express: Step onto the platform at Platform 9¾ and even board the iconic  Hogwarts Express train. •Visit Privet Drive: See the exterior of 4 Privet Drive, where Harry's journey began before he  discovered he was a wizard.

Shop for Souvenirs: The attraction boasts a large gift shop with a wide array of Harry Potter 
merchandise, ranging from wands and robes to magical sweets. Conclude your magical journey at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and make your way back  through platform 9¾. Your coach will be waiting to take you into the city centre.

Afternoon: Proceed to Kings Cross where the bus will drop you off. King's Cross Station, a major railway station in Central London, is known for its historical significance and cultural references,  including the famous "Platform 9¾" from the Harry Potter series.

Evening: 19:30: After Kings Cross, a walk to the Theatre Café Diner, a unique establishment 
located at 154 Shaftesbury Avenue. Nestled in the heart of London's bustling theater district, it's not your ordinary restaurant. This special place combines two elements: food and theater! It  offers a distinctive experience where you can savor delicious cuisine, listen to captivating songs,  and feel like you're part of the thrilling world of theater. A visit of Covent gardens after  meal, then wind down your evening by walking back to the hotel, allowing you to relax and 
recharge for the days ahead.

Day 5 
Morning: 9:00-12:00:
City Academy's not-to-be-missed theatre musical workshop! In this immersive experience, kids  will spend 3 hours singing, dancing, and performing their favorite musicals. With expert guidance,  participants will refine their vocal and dance abilities in a supportive and engaging atmosphere.  It's the perfect journey into the enchanting world of theatre, where passion meets performance. 

Afternoon: 14:00 & 16:00 – Split into two groups. It’s time to embark on a Old London 
Underground Station Tour with London Transport Museum. Join an expert guide for a fascinating  walking tour of the world's oldest underground system. Learn about the history of the 'Tube' as  you journey through time, visiting one of London's earliest, original stations and its newest and  most futuristic additions.
Evening: 19:30: Embark on a laughter-filled adventure with "Mrs. Doubtfire" at Shaftesbury 
Theatre, London. Join the hilarious chaos as Daniel Hillard transforms into the lovable Scottish  nanny to stay close to his kids. With heartwarming moments and sidesplitting comedy, this familyfriendly musical is a delightful treat for kids and parents. Get ready for a joyous and heartwarming 
experience!

Day 6 
Morning: 9:00-12:00 Unlock the world of stage combat with the thrilling Stage Combat 
Workshop at Actors Doors Studio! This dynamic experience goes beyond traditional acting, 
offering an exciting blend of skill development and pure fun. Led by seasoned instructors, the 
workshop empowers kids to master the art of stage combat in a safe and controlled  environment. After finishing the workshop take a walk around Whitechapel.

Afternoon: 13:00: Sky Garden in London is a unique public space located atop the Walkie 
Talkie building, offering panoramic views of the city. This lush, landscaped garden spans three floors and features an open-air terrace, stylish restaurants, and bars. Free to visit, it's a tranquil oasis in the heart of London, blending urban architecture with vibrant greenery and providing an unmatched viewing experience.

Late Afternoon: Take a leisurely stroll around Trafalgar Square. Initially built to honor the 
Battle of Trafalgar, this square has evolved into a versatile space for various activities,  including celebrations, protests, political events, art exhibitions, and more.

Evening: Collect your luggage from the hostel or hotel, and await your airport transfers. This 
marks the end of your trip, ensuring a smooth transition to your departure
